Why Authentic Flour Can't Be Cheap
Share
Why are there price differences between seemingly similar products? It is a natural question. And the answer often lies in the process, in the choices, in the principles.
We, at Biruința Olteniei, chose a harder but truly valuable path from the very beginning: that of uncompromising quality. And this can be felt in every bag of flour that reaches your home.
Slow milling, stone mill
We use a traditional stone mill that works slowly – 100–150 kg per hour. In comparison, industrial mills can produce up to 10 tons per hour. For us, however, speed is not the goal. What matters is preserving everything that is good from the wheat grain: the bran, the germ, the fibers, the enzymes, and the authentic taste.

Under 35°C – an important detail that makes the difference
The milling temperature remains constantly below 35°C. This is an important limit so that heat-sensitive nutrients are not destroyed. Although this control means higher costs, we know it has a real impact on the nutritional value of the flour.
Grains grown by us, from Romanian varieties
All our grains come from our own crops. We do not use ultra-productive varieties, but rather Romanian varieties with taste and consistency. We obtain 5,000 kg/ha, compared to the 6,500–7,000 kg that foreign varieties would yield, but we consciously choose not to chase only the yield, but above all the quality of the grain.
No additives. No improvers. Just flour.
What we put in the bags is exactly what we would want to put on our own family's table. No gimmicks, no additions, no ambiguity.
A price that reflects all this effort
In a world where many products are packaged quickly, sometimes from raw materials coming from far away and sold in health stores or supermarkets at high prices, we prefer to be transparent. Our flour is locally produced, with care, from Romanian grains, and has a price that reflects the true value of our work and our choices.
We know that every family has its own priorities. We are here for those who value authentic taste, health, and responsible choices. And we are glad that more and more people are returning to the simplicity of things done right.
